Collection: Cutting Boards

A cutting board is one of the most used items in any well used kitchen.  Bamboo makes a great cutting board because it is tough and last under constant daily use.  I use this exact board and have been for years now, and we cook all our meals at home.

There is a groove on one side to collect juices from whatever you are cutting and one side that is flat.  The size matches most chef knives and is about the perfect size.  Bigger starts to get unwieldy and smaller you start to run out of room.

The bamboo is very stable and does not warp with moisture and is a very sustainable material.  It is used in so many kitchen utensils for a reason.  The small bamboo is cut into small strips to reduce the amount of warping when exposed to moisture, similar to plywood.  A solid piece of wood is very prone to warpage.

Wood is naturally antimicrobial when compared to plastic and I would not have a plastic cutting board in my house.  Not only are little plastic chards cut when using a plastic board, but it has a higher propensity to allow bacteria to grow.
